Dotiert ist dieser Preis mit 500 €. Die Teilnahmebedingungen kurz zusammengefasst:

1. Die Arbeit muss einen klaren Geophysik- und Österreichbezug aufweisen. Letzterer kann thematisch-inhaltlich oder durch die Affiliation des Autors/der Autorin begründet sein.
2. Die Einreich-Deadline ist der 15. Juni 2026 – zu diesem Zeitpunkt muss die Arbeit mindestens den Status "in press" in einem peer-reviewed Journal aufweisen.
3. Der früheste Zeitpunkt der Veröffentlichung der eingereichten Arbeit ist der 1. Jänner 2023
4. Die Erstautorin / der Erstautor muss Mitglied der AGS sein - kann aber auch bei Einreichung dem Verein beitreten
5. Zur Beurteilung der Arbeit muss ein pdf-Abzug des Papers hochgeladen werden. Dieses dient nur der Beurteilung durch die Jury (AGS-Vorstand) und wird nicht veröffentlicht.
6. Die Einreichung erfolgt durch die Erstautorin / den Erstautor
7. Es müssen mindestens 3 Arbeiten aus 3 Fachgebieten oder 3 Institutionen eingereicht werden. Wird diese Mindestanzahl in einem Jahr nicht erfüllt, werden die bis dahin eingereichten Arbeiten automatisch im darauffolgenden Jahr berücksichtigt.

Die Beurteilung erfolgt durch die Kombination der folgenden drei Kriterien: Journal Citation Index, Alter der Autorin/des Autors bei Einreichung sowie eine Beurteilung durch den Vorstand der AGS.

The prize is endowed with €500. The participation criteria are summarised as follows:

1. The submitted work must demonstrate a clear connection to geophysics and to Austria. The Austrian relevance may be justified either thematically or through the author's affiliation.
2. The submission deadline is 15 June 2026. By that date, the paper must have at least the status “in press” in a peer-reviewed journal.
3. The earliest publication date of the submitted paper must be 1 January 2025.
4. The first author must be a member of the AGS. Membership can also be obtained at the time of submission.
5. For evaluation purposes, a PDF version of the paper must be uploaded. This file will be used solely for assessment by the jury (AGS Board) and will not be published.
6. The submission must be made by the first author.
7. A minimum of three submissions from three different research fields or three different institutions is required. If this minimum number is not reached in a given year, the submitted papers will automatically be considered in the following year.

The evaluation will be based on a combination of the following three criteria: Journal Citation Index, the author's age at the time of submission, and an assessment by the AGS Board.
